Founded in 1974 by Rev. and Mrs. Ernie Mills, the Durham Rescue Mission is a faith-based, non-profit organization whose goal is to mend shattered lives by ministering to the homeless and addicted in central North Carolina.

PODS Angels, which stands for parents of down syndrome angels, is a non-profit support group organization for parents of down syndrome. PODS Angels began in 1998 after the the founders’ daughter was born with down syndrome.

Childhelp – pioneers in preventing abuse

Childhelp, the third nominee for the Spread Your Warmth campaign, comes to us from another blogger friend and author of the new book Tales from the Trips about his life as a father to triplets, John Cave Osborne. Founded in 1959 by Sara O’Meara and Yvonne Fedderson, Childhelp is a leading national non-profit organization dedicated to helping victims of child abuse and neglect.
