The Kitchen cares with dignity and compassion

Our next nominee for the August edition of Sweatshirt Blanket’s Spread Your Warmth campaign is Springfield, Missouri’s own The Kitchen. This organization was founded on Palm Sunday in 1983 by Sister Lorraine as a soup kitchen and served their first meal at St. Agnes Grade School Cafeteria.

St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital

August 17, 2010

The next nominee in the August edition of Spread Your Warmth is a very familiar name, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Located in Memphis, Tennessee, is one of the world’s premier pediatric cancer research centers. Its mission is to find cures for children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases through research and treatment.

They are a 501c3 non-profit, all volunteer organization, providing youth football and cheerleading activities for the South Shore Community of Hillsborough County, Florida.

Our next nominee for the August edition of the Spread Your Warmth campaign is the Suncoast Hospice. They are the the nation’s largest not-for-profit, community-based provider of hospice and palliative care. The Suncoast Hospice provides care for tens of thousands of people annually, and leads innovative service delivery, social change advocacy, technology development and other end-of-life initiatives
