in June 2010 Nominees, Spread Your Warmth

After an unexpected delay we are back with the first of the Spread Your Warmth Nominees for June 2010. Today’s nominee is Operation Surprise Attack who was created for the sole purpose of surprising sick children with an act of kindness.

Operation Surprise Attack started when founder Lisa Fulton was connecting with old friends on Facebook. She saw a post from a childhood friend asking people to send cards to a boy who was dying from Cancer. She decided to help with this by posting the story on her wall and other friends’ profiles.

Once she saw the response from my friends she decided to ask people if they knew of a local child to whom they might be able to send cards. Not long thereafter a teacher contact her and told her about a boy in her school that had just been diagnosed with Leukemia.

Operation Surprise Attack verifies all of the children’s needs and gets parents, teachers and family members involved. When these kids get 5-10 cards a day from all over the world, it really encourages them to keep fighting.

Founder Lisa Fulton is a Professional Nanny and the owner of Leela’s Nanny Service, LLC. She is affectionately known by many of the little ones as “Leela” and has been caring for children for more than 20 years. in multiple capacities that include private in-home care, international outreach and special needs.

What started out as a Facebook group with the support of a few friends is quickly growing into another successful inspirational project that carries out Lisa’s desire to make our little ones feel special.

Thank you to Lisa Fulton for nominating Operation Surprise Attack for the June edition of the Spread Your Warmth campaign. If you would like to learn more about Operation Surprise Attack visit their website.
